Amashova Cycle Tour - October 2011
Well words cannot sum up the awesome experience of what for us was Le Epic Amashova! It was a tour that everyone talked about and it was high on our priority list while we were both living in Joburg. But could we do it?
You guys gave us the support and confidence to get in the mix and we can't thank you enough for that. Your attention to detail, your emphasis on safety, the route you chose and your ability to make all of us feel 'special' despite how the legs were feeling on the day was amazing. All this with wry humour and patience. Thankyou, we did it! Cherry Giljam
Thank you so much and congratulations in organising such a fabulous and enjoyable trip! Lorenda Beaumont
Namaqualand - August 2011
Once again, a hearty thanks from all of us for a wonderful and well organized trip.
As we have all intimated, your attention to detail, your flexibility in adapting your plans to suit us and your obvious but unseen work behind the scenes went way beyond the call of duty, resulting in an experience that none of us will forget. Tiny Barnetson
I am writing to thank you both for such a super trip which you organized to Namaqualand. It really was incredibly well organized, with both of you going all out to take care of every little detail and make the trip most enjoyable. Having done organized trips before I can tell you that your personal involvement makes a world of difference to the success of such a trip. Being a novice off road rider, I have no doubt that my skills have definitely improved and the ‘fitness’ training will no doubt make a difference when we are back on the road again. Theresa Walton
10 Day Mapungubwe, Kruger, Mpumalanga. September 2011
We cannot thank you both enough for the brilliant holiday. It was so well
planned with so many different experiences. You two were such good company
that we felt at ease immediately. We have so many great memories that will
last with us forever. Jane & Andrew Johnson UK
Gourmet Cycle Tour - September 2011
The Tour: Great balance between activity and other stuff like stars, olive oil, figs, etc.
Prince Albert and this cycling experience deserves discovery by many more people, locally and abroad; no one who is a mountain biker can be disappointed here, market it more aggressively. Louise Treurnicht
The Accommodation: Superb! Such a treat to be in such interesting and historical houses that have been so beautifully renovated and kitted out. Andy Rundle

A huge thank you to you and Chris for a really lovely adventure holiday. We both enjoyed it enormously even though we were not fit enough for some of the cycling. The group was terrific and having travelled with many groups over the years I know just how lucky we all were to be together and get on with one another. The Namaqualand daisies have been on my to-do list for a long time and I am so pleased we were able to see them and cycle.

The privilege was mine and the other nogschleppers who joined James Clarke and his other Tour de Farce mates last week on a little jaunt around the Bethlehem area. I use the term nogschlepper because it is very difficult to crack the nod to do the proper tour de farce tours around Europe. Needless to say I was a very happy nogschlepper in the midst of this crowd of seasoned hacks and amateur cyclists. But what a great experience it was. Totally new and refreshing. Nice people who jelled immediately. Thanks leader James Clarke. And Peter Sullivan and Jimmy Mould, veterans of the real Tour de Farce. And to Graham Holness, Ellis Mortimer, Peter Janisch, Bernard Janisch and the talented and multi-faceted Paul Janisch, at 42, the youngest of the group but who fitted in perfectly (average age of the group was 61). And a special thank you to Chris Murray and Liz Szabo. Their arrangements were great and nothing was too much trouble for them.

This is just a note to thank you all for a wonderful five days. Hobnobbing in such esteemed company certainly beats consulting.

Of the numerous organised cycling trips I have been on over the last dozen years, this one had the best feel. Perhaps best exemplified by the fact that we started planning next years trip with you before we finished this one!

Having done a bit of research in advance, I knew it would be good and it was. Particularly welcome were a couple of decent days of gentle stuff to start with for those of us who had not been able to train as much as we would have liked because of the severe weather in the UK. Day 5 was one of the best days of my life - a great cycle from Barberton to Malalane, followed by an afternoon in Kruger.

I have read all your postings with interest, and remain overwhelmed by the organisation and camaraderie of last week. James, Liz and Chris were simply phenomenal (I know this is an overworked word, but it certainly applies). Thank you to all of you. Peter Janisch
