8 Day Cycle Kruger, Private Lodge, Panorama Route & Misty Mountain

DAY 1
Pick up guests at airport, drive via Dullstroom to our accommodation for the next three nights, which is adjacent to the Phalaborwa Gate, Kruger National Park. Arrive in time to set up bikes, enjoy sundowners & dinner.

DAY 2
Early start to the day as we enter the Park at the Phalaborwa Gate and proceed to the drop off point. The prospect of a big 5 encounter(Elephant, Buffalo, Rhino, Lion, Leopard) is ever present, so the number of guests is limited to 6. You will be fully briefed before setting off on your ride. The terrain is rough so the guests have to be fairly fit as they will be going over rocks, soft sand & through Mopani trees. The route is approximately 20 km & traverses between the Tsutsi River and Sable Dam in the Kruger Park. This takes about 4 hours. The guests will be provided with breakfast & water on the safari. Once back at the lodge, a sparkling pool beckons the riders. An afternoon game drive in the Kruger Park in a possibility.

DAY 3
Another early morning cycle in the Kruger or a walk, is an option today – the Park Rangers will entertain you with their expansive knowledge on the flora and fauna. An evening game drive with a bush barbecue will be enjoyed today.

DAY 4
After breakfast we depart from our Lodge & drive over the Abel Erasmus Pass. Start cycling from the Three Rondawels. Late lunch at the famous pancake house in Graskop. Your overnight accommodation is in Graskop, on the edge of the Graskop Gorge, overlooking some of the most stunning scenery.

DAY 5
After breakfast we drive to Bourke’s Luck Potholes, have a look at this amazing geology & then cycle to Pilgrim’s Rest along a gravel road amongst wonderful scenery. A late lunch & amble through Pilgrim’s Rest

Overnight: Graskop (DBB) 35kms

DAY 6
After breakfast we cycle to Sabie (a hilly 30 kms), where we will stop for lunch. Then drive up the Long Tom Pass to our overnight accommodation – Misty Mountain. Once there, sit on the deck & admire the magnificent view or go for an afternoon spin!!

DAY 7
Misty Mountain – a nature lover’s haven – is a 280 hectare South African Natural Heritage Site situated on the spectacular Long Tom Pass (31 kilometres from Lydenburg and 24 kilometres from Sabie), Mpumalanga, and South Africa. Perched at an altitude of 1700 metres above sea level in a malaria free area, Misty Mountain is uniquely set in mountainous countryside with majestic views across the escarpment and into the lowveld. A lovely cycle through forest plantations today into Sabie – 18kms, lunch & return cycle up Long Tom Pass for the energetic – 24 kms. Or drive back in the bus!!

DAY 8
Sadly, drive back to Johannesburg in time to catch your flight stopping along the way for lunch.
